Bartender Resume

Your Bartender Resume Needs To Get Noticed.

When you’re looking for a bartending job, having a bartender resume is key.
It’s the best way to show potential employers what you have to offer.
A good resume should highlight your skills, experience and education.

Start by listing your contact information at the top of the page.
Include your name, address, phone number and email address.
Next, list your work experience. Be sure to include the dates you worked,
the name of the establishment and what you did there.
If you have any relevant education or training, be sure to list that as well.

Finally, be sure to tailor your resume specifically for bartending jobs.
Use keywords like “mixology” and “bartender” throughout the document.
This will help employers find your resume when they search for candidates online.

Normally people don’t turn in resumes, instead they simply fill out
an application.
However, some places run out of applications, then when you ask for
an application you are given a piece of paper, or worse a cocktail
napkin, and told to write down your contact information.

That might work if you know someone working there and they
tell the boss about you. This is rarely the case.

Therefore, having a resume ready to turn in, will set you apart from the
usual bartenders that apply.
Your resume needs to stand out, by using the right words.

You need to write your cover letter (yes, a cover letter) and resume
in a way that gets you noticed without being boring, wacky or overly
creative.

Write as if you are having a casual but professional
conversation with someone.

With this in mind, here is a key formula to use:

A.I.D.A

A:

Get the readers Attention.

I:

Make them gain Interest in the topic.

D:

Build a Desire for the subject.

A:

Tell them how to take Action.

In fact, this is the successful formula that has been used for
years in marketing and advertising.

You need to Sell Yourself.

A.I.D.A. works for cover letters and it can also be used in the resume.
Attention can be the “objective” part of the resume.

Also many of the online applications, that many companies
are using, want a resume uploaded.

Hopefully by now you understand how important a resume is
for a bartender.

Not only will a well written resume make a good impression, but
it will also help you reinforce what you already know about yourself.

The traits you need to highlight:

Also keep your resume short enough to scan, but long enough
to cover everything. One page is ideal.

Sooner or later you’ll need a resume and in this industry having a
resume will set you
apart and that is what will get you the interview.

You are selling YOU.
Therefore, you need to develop a new skill called copywriting.

Copywriting is the act or occupation of writing text for the purpose
of advertising or other forms of marketing.

The copy is meant to persuade someone to buy a product.
In this case, you are the product.

Although this post isn’t a tutorial on how to write, you can use
this information for all of your writing.

I’m using this book right now to help write a better resume.
